Don, the head honcho editor guy of UKA Press, has sent through the new edit
of Bat Boy as well as the first cover design. It's so chufftastic that I'm in a fantastic
mood, despite almost getting run over by some nobber on a bike in the
subway.
Hopefully won't be long before the book's on sale, yayyyy!

Been a quiet week so far, which suits me fine - I've only just recovered from my stag
weekend. Headed up to Edinburgh for it which was ace, and didn't have to dress up
as a woman which was even better.
My old tutor, Cleland Thom, has posted a brief story about me on his site. Any
prospective journos should give his course a go - it's the dog's.

Well, I'm now officially a journalist, huzzah! I've even started carrying a pen and pad

My journalistic exploits have finally taken a turn for the greater good, and by that I
mean I'm actually going to get paid for writing stuff. Wooooh! As of next month, I'll
be joining Future Publishing to write for their What Laptop mag.
I've archived off my old work and will use the newly-cleared Articles page to link
to any new work.

Looks like the 2009 UK Authors Best Beginnings competition is open for entries.
As usual, it's a top selection of publishers, editors and authors doing the feedback
and final judging, so well worth entering for any prospective writers.

Just found out that one of my novels, Bat Boy, was selected as the overall winner
of the UK Authors 2008 Best Beginnings competition! This is an international contest
that attracts huge numbers of writers every year. Bat Boy will be published by the
UKA Press, and as soon as it's available I'll post up links here.

Three of my novels (Bat Boy, Crack, Feud) have rather amazingly been shortlisted in
the UK Authors Best Beginnings Competition 2008. It's a massive honour, and
the feedback I've received from the judges and competition organisers has been
a huge boost.
